Laramie Project: Ten Years Later…
an Epilogue
Eleven years ago, on October 12, 1998, Matthew Shepard was killed in Laramie, Wyoming. Matthew's murder ignited a firestorm of worldwide protests, provoking award-winning playwright Moisés Kaufman to create Laramie Project, the story of how one young man's death affected a city and the world beyond.
What's changed in Laramie in the last ten years? This October 12, 2009, GMCLA joins 100 other arts organizations across the United States in a simultaneous nationwide premiere of the Tectonic Theatre Company's Laramie Project: Ten Years Later… an Epilogue.
In conjunction with the award-winning Speak Theatre Arts Company, GMCLA will provide the visual and musical backdrop to this startling new piece of theatre. Special guest appearances by Mary McCormack (West Wing, In Plain Sight) and Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica, ER, Grey’s Anatomy). GMCLA subscribers receive exclusive access to early reservations. This one-night-only performance is a co-presentation with the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage, Santa Monica. VIP reception to follow.
October 12, 2009 @7:30 pm
The Broad Stage, Santa Monica
General Admission: $40
VIP Admission*: $80 (priority seating and Celebrity VIP Party to follow)
*All proceeds benefit GMCLA's Alive Music Project
